5,863 acres with hardwoods, prairie edges, lakes—and a public shooting range (25/50/100 yards). The MDC notes Poosey sits about 12 miles southwest of Trenton and also lists distances to nearby towns.

Union Ridge Conservation Area

8,262 acres across Adair, Putnam, and Sullivan counties; a mix of woods, grasslands, and creek bottoms that hold deer and turkey. Access commonly described from Green Castle. Always check area regs before you go.
